Mr. Tremblay has been a member of the IBM team in Bromont, the largest electronic component assembly and verification plant in North America, the only plant of its kind at IBM, for more than 33 years now and a member of the management team for more than 25 years. Joined the senior leadership team in 2005 as Manufacturing Business Unit Manager.
A graduate of the University of Sherbrooke in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Tremblay joined IBM in 1991 as a quality engineer. Since then, he has held various positions in manufacturing, engineering, planning, procurement and skills-organisational development and for the latter, played a key leadership role in the LEAN Manufacturing transformation of the operations in the early 2000’s and more recently same with AGILE project management integration. In December 2017, he was entrusted with the responsibility of product and market development to ensure the growth of the organization as functional director responsible for business development and technological development. Since February 2022, he is now the Chief Operating Officer of the plant and Executive Director of the IBM Bromont site.
In 2013, Mr. Tremblay joined the Board of Directors of the Manpower Training Parity Committee; Elexpertise and was the co-president from 2019 to 2023. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the CMC Microelectronics organization as a director and in charge of the Nominating Committee from 2018 to 2021. Currently serving on the C2MI Board of Directors since 2021 and is serving as Vice-Chair since 2022. Finally, Mr Tremblay also recently joined the Canada Semiconductor Counsil (CSC) Board of Directors.
As a veteran of the industry, Mr. Tremblay is a strong believer in the criticality of the Semiconductor Industry for the nation economy and security and is an active leader in the development of this industry in Canada.
