Chris Ouslis brings unusual breadth and insight to Canada’s semiconductor sector. Co-inventor on 7 patents and co-author on 11 refereed papers, Chris has collaborated on the designs of ubiquitous consumer electronics chips through IP and silicon. Currently with the National Research Council’s (NRC) Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP), his focus is on semiconductor efforts nationwide. Chris’ semiconductor career began in academia and evolved into industry: from startups to Fortune 1000 firms. He was co-founder of Fresco Microchip, a venture-led fabless company providing RF & IF solutions to the television industry (LG, Samsung, Panasonic, etc.) and co-founder of Xentec, a bootstrapped firm that became the mixed-signal, silicon IP division of Synopsys and is still led from Toronto. Chris also chairs the Alliance for Semiconductor Innovation Canada (ASIC)
