Dr. Behraad Bahreyni, SMIEEE, PEng, is a professor at Simon Fraser University, BC, Canada and the founding Director of the Intelligent Sensing Laboratory (ISL). Under his leadership, the ISL has become a recognized hub for research in the fabrication and characterization of micro and nano-devices.
His research is centred on the design, fabrication, interfacing, and integration of micro/nano-systems. Over the past 15 years, and through numerous national and international collaborations, his team has developed high-performance devices for various sectors, including defence, space, consumer electronics, mining, and automotive.
Dr. Bahreyni has contributed to over 180 technical publications in the field. He has also supervised more than 50 postgraduate students, many of whom have advanced to leadership positions in industry.
