Raymond Chik is an accomplished semiconductor chip design engineer, serial entrepreneur and an angel investor.
He completed his PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto in 1995. Since then he has co-founded several semiconductor startups, including his latest ventures, Untether AI (2018), which focuses on AI HW compute acceleration, and Hepzibah (2024), which develops highly energy efficient AI compute IP cores. Both Untether AI and Hepzibah were spin-of from Kapik Integration, which Raymond also co-founded in 2008.
Raymond is a globally active contributor to the startup ecosystem, serving on Hardtech Investor Network’s Advisory Board as Chair, and as an Executive In Residence at the ventureLAB, a global hardtech founder community and technology hub. He is also a venture partner at Network VC and was the founding chair of the Toronto IEEE Solid-State Circuits Chapter.
His contributions have been recognized with awards such as the ACCE (Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs) Best Startup Award 2022 and Tech Business of the Year (2022) by Canadian SME Small Business Magazine.
